Terms of Service
September 30, 2026
1. Who we are
Turnout provides a web tool that runs structured screening interviews for hourly jobs and summarizes the answers for employers. These terms apply to employers who create hiring links and to applicants who take interviews. By using the site you accept them.
2. The service
Employers describe a job and receive a link. Applicants who open the link answer questions written by an AI model, by voice or by text. The AI may ask short follow-up questions. When the interview ends, the employer sees the answers, a score from 0 to 100, a short summary, possible strengths and points to check, and the start date the applicant gave.
The score and summary are an aid for reading answers faster. They are not a hiring decision. The AI can misunderstand answers, especially when speech recognition makes mistakes.
3. Employer responsibilities
You make every hiring decision yourself and read the transcript before rejecting anyone on the basis of a score.
You are responsible for complying with employment, anti-discrimination and automated decision laws where you hire, including notices or audits required by local rules such as New York City Local Law 144, the Colorado AI Act or the Illinois Human Rights Act. If a law requires an audit before an automated tool is used, do not use scores until that audit is done.
You must not ask applicants, through the job description or requirements, about age, race, religion, sex, pregnancy, disability, health, marital or family status, national origin or any other protected characteristic.
You will only use applicant data to fill the job you posted and will not sell it or add it to marketing lists.
4. Applicant terms
Taking an interview is free. You are told before the interview that the questions are asked by an AI. You can stop at any time and you can delete your answers from the interview page on the device you used, or by writing to us through the contact page.
Answer truthfully. Do not share passwords, bank details, health information or documents in the interview.
5. Accounts
Employers sign up with an email and password. Keep the password private; you are responsible for activity in your account. We may suspend accounts that post fake jobs, collect data for other purposes, ask discriminatory questions or charge applicants money.
6. Prices
Your first 3 hires are free. After that the price is $150 per hire. A hire is billed when you mark a candidate as hired on your board. You see the price before you confirm.
If the person does not start work, mark them as Didn’t start within 14 days and the invoice is cancelled. Invoices are paid by card through a secure payment link we send you. We do not store card details.
We will tell you at least 30 days before any price change. Nothing is charged automatically.
7. Acceptable use
Do not post jobs that are illegal, unpaid in breach of wage laws, adult, or that ask applicants to pay a fee. Do not try to break, overload or copy the service, or to access other users' data.
8. Availability and liability
The service is provided as is during the pilot. We do our best to keep it running and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that every AI summary is correct. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, and we are not liable for indirect losses or hiring outcomes.
9. Ending
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end the service or an account with notice, or immediately for serious misuse.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will show it on the site before it applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
11. Contact
Write to us through the contact page.
